So Real Madrid wants to push the Bellingham fee

The media are largely in agreement: Jude Bellingham will leave Borussia Dortmund after the current season, join Real Madrid and collect around 20 million euros a year from the royal team. Real managing director José Ángel Sánchez is said to have recently negotiated this deal with the Bellingham side during a stay in Germany. However, the negotiations with BVB should continue to cause headaches for the Madrilenians.

Real Madrid have long since convinced Jude Bellingham of a commitment and now have to sit down with BVB to reach an agreement on the fee. This is reported by “El Nacional”. However, the project does contain a number of stumbling blocks.

The black and yellow, where the 19-year-old Englishman is not only an absolute top performer, but is also under contract until the end of June 2025, should insist on no less than 150 million euros. A sum that, according to the report, Real wants to push by all means.

In order to achieve this, the Spanish capital should be very interested in letting their own stars move towards Dortmund and offsetting them against the Bellingham fee. Specifically, “El Nacional” lists three names.

Aurelien Tchouaméni, Sergio Arribas or Brahim Díaz could switch to the black and yellow in return, it is said.

Tchouaméni is certainly the best-known kicker in this trio. Real only transferred 80 million euros to AS Monaco in the summer of 2022 for the Frenchman, who, like Bellingham, is at home in central midfield, and should therefore deduct a large part of Bellingham’s desired fee from BVB. The deal would therefore only make sense if the Bundesliga club had great trust in Tchouaméni.

Real Madrid wants to end negotiations with BVB in mid-June

Díaz is currently on loan from Real to AC Milan, where he is a regular (40 games/6 goals/4 assists). Milan can sign the attacking midfielder for 22 million euros, but Real can cancel the agreement for 27 million euros. Should Milan take the option, however, this approach does not make much sense.

That leaves Arribas, a 21-year-old attacking talent just starting out in his pro career. However, the left foot stands out from the offspring of the Madrilenians and would fit well into the BVB profile. Crux of the matter: The fee for Bellingham by the inexperienced youngster should not be really low.

It is also easy to imagine that in Dortmund they have no interest in offsetting a Real player in the deal. In view of Bellingham’s contract term, the black and yellow are on a very long lever and should not buckle so quickly. Real should nevertheless assume that they can give the green light in mid-June.
