On the third day, camping can be a bit tough, especially if the weather doesn’t play along. However, this is conciliatory with the festival fans, and luckily Sunday at Rock am Ring 2025 stays dry. The 40th anniversary of the event goes out loud, warm and occasionally Weird.

In the afternoon, Leftovers prove on the small Atmos Stage that punk, grunge and rock in Vienna found a new, fresh form. They attract an audience that was significantly larger than the slot on the remote stage on the slope suggested. Similarly gripping: I See Stars from Michigan who bring their trance core to the orbit stage:

In memory of Alice in Chains

Jerry Cantrell

A real highlight for Grunge fans takes place a little later: Jerry Cantrell, guitarist and songwriter from Alice in Chains, does not only play solo material with his band, but also fan favourites such as “Them Bones”, “Wood?” And “roosters”, which ensures an awesome atmosphere.

The set of Idles develops very differently, but no less urgently. Singer Joe Talbot appears in the towel dress, which he apparently borrowed from his new friends, the Beatsteaks. At the song “Colossus” and the line “Forgive Me Father, I have sensed”, he brazenly stretch the middle finger on the sky and also with chants like “Viva Palestine” is not saved. The fans who are pilgrimed in front of the Utopia Stage despite the strong wind take it as it comes. This also includes making space for guitarist Lee Kiernan, who goes into the crowd and instrument.

2025 is also an anniversary year for Beatsteaks

Beaten

Then the Beatsteaks take command on the main stage and the campsite seems to have emptied. In 2025 the band celebrates its 30th anniversary. For the rock-am-ring visitors, this means on Sunday: good mood with the best-of a group that understands their craft. The Berliners also cannot take the fun of covering: “Relax” by Frankie goes to Hollywood and “Hello there” by Cheap Trick make it into the set.

Hardcore fans also get their money’s worth at Rock am Ring. Terror front man Scott Vogel roars: “Put thesis guys to work!” – He meant security in the stage ditch, which from this point on crowdsurfers can catch every second. No dying, as usual with terror, but non -stop moshpits and movement. The band remains loyal in 2025: “Still dedicated to hardcore.”

Rock am Ring 2025 on Sunday: teen flashback with grain

Korn then celebrate her own anniversary – it is already the tenth appearance at Rock am Ring. Singer Jonathan Davis is reminiscent of the fact that the band has been on the road for more than 40 years – the joy that their show is a real nostalgia trip to their own youth for many is obviously moody. The setlist is therefore also a thank you to all fans of the late nineties and nineties: “Got the Life”, “Falling Away from Me”, “Blind”, a bagpipe intro for “Shoots N Ladders”. And at the end of the show, the jazzy dick-cheeese version of “Freak on a Leash” follows as a gourmet. Weird? Yes, just as you knew grain earlier.

The festival ignites the big final fireworks-a goosebump moment before the viewers move to the late night set from Sleep Toke. In a huge rock wall it lets the band “snow” with gently trickling confetti. Next door the contrast program: Brutalism 3000 plays a feel-good mantra here before going to Rock am Ring’s last night with brute gabber.
