Top talent Bence Dárdai from VfL Wolfsburg, like his brothers Márton (23) and Palkó (25, both Hertha BSC) and father Pál, wants to appear for the Hungarian national team. The 19-year-old, who had previously played on the field from the U16 to the U19 for the DFB youth selection and was still on the field in the European Championship qualification in November, shared a corresponding social media post from the Hungarian association at the end of February.

Update March 10, 2:54 p.m.: The Hungarian Football Association confirmed the first official nomination of Dárdais for the upcoming playoff games in the UEFA Nations League against Turkey on Monday.

“Bence Dárdai in the Hungarian national team! The Wolfsburg midfielder wants to strengthen Marco Rossi’s team in the future. FIFA issued the necessary approval, ”the MLSZ had already announced in February. Back then National coach Rossi said: “We have known for a long time what potential it is in it, but we wanted to give him time so that he can fit into his new team well and, as a young player, can make this difficult and extremely responsible decision in peace and confidence.”

Dárdai himself said: “I am very happy that I belong to the Hungarian national team in the future. Of course I am also looking forward to the first home game, because I heard from my brothers that there is always a fantastic atmosphere for the national team in the Puskás Arena. ”

After his summer transfer from Hertha youth club, Dárdai immediately developed into an important squad player at the wolves this season and increased its market value to 6 million euros in December. Also due to injuries in the squad of coach Ralph Hasenhüttl, he stood in the starting eleven between the ninth and the 18th matchday nine times, scored a goal and three templates.
