Snowboarder Morgan lands on the podium

Snowboarder Annika Morgan has made it onto a World Cup podium for the third time in her career.

The 20-year-old from SC Miesbach finished third in the slopestyle qualification in Mammoth Mountain/USA and made it into a final for the first time since the Olympic Games in Beijing.

Since this had to be canceled due to strong winds, the result of the qualification was counted.

“I’m really happy about the post. Of course I would have liked to drive in the final, but that wasn’t possible today,” said Morgan, who thus also fulfilled the qualifying standard for the world championships in Bakuriani, Georgia, which begin in two weeks.

The World Cup in Calgary is still on the program for the German freestyle teams next weekend.
