Raceboarder Stefan Baumeister came fourth in the parallel slalom in Bad Gastein – but he showed a very strong competition. Ramona Hofmeister didn’t have a good day. Of the five German starters, only Baumeister survived the round of 16.

Builder better than Olympic champion

In the round of 16, Baumeister made it to the next round against the Japanese Ryusuke Shinohara by just one hundredth. And there waiting was the Olympic champion in the parallel giant slalom, Benjamin Karl. But the Austrian made a huge mistake, edged too late and was ultimately eliminated. But in the semifinals it was all over for Baumeister.

In the small final, the Upper Bavarian made a serious mistake, standing sideways for a short time, standing sideways, but fought his way back. But the victory went to American Cody Winters – Baumeister missed his first parallel slalom individual podium in almost a year. In the parallel giant slalom he made it to the final at the beginning of December and came second.

In the grand final, the Italian Maurizio Bormolino showed his strength and took victory ahead of the Bulgarian Alexander Krashniak.

The second German in the finals, Max Kühnhauser, was eliminated in the round of 16 and finished 15th. Elias Huber qualified 24th. not in the knockout duels.

Out for Hofmeister in the round of 16

Ramona Hofmeister, who celebrated her comeback at the weekend with a win in Scuol, was eliminated in the round of 16, just like her teammate Mathilda Scheid. Melanie Hochreiter had already narrowly failed to qualify. The victory went to the Italian Lucia Dalmasso from Italy.
