After more than three years of dry spell, Martin Nörl has impressively reported back with two World Cup victories among the world’s best. On Sunday (January 9th, 2022) the 28-year-old from the Snowboard Germany team was able to prevail against the competition and underline his ambitions for a medal at the Olympic Games in Beijing. Nörl made his second success in the competition in Krasnoyarsk, Russia, ahead of the Austrian Jakob Dusek. The Canadian Elion Grondin came third.

“I’m speechless”

“I’m speechless, two World Cup victories in a row. I don’t know why, but this is my track here”, said Nörl after the best weekend of his snowboarding career. It is now one of the big favorites for the Winter Games. Umito Kirchwehm and Leon Beckhaus did not qualify for the final races of the top 16. The previous day’s fourth Paul Berg did not start.
