Snoop Dogg has dropped a new single: “Stop Counting My Poccets.” The Nottz-produced track is from his upcoming album “10 Til’ Midnight”which comes out April 10th.
There is a single for the single
directed by Luis De Pena and Yaslynn Rivera, which pays tribute to classic West Coast gangster films. The clip is part of a short film that serves as the overall visual concept for Snoop’s album.
The short film, shot largely in black and white, features West Coast rappers Ray Vaughn, G Perico, Hitta J3 and BLK ODYSSY. The focus is on the brothers Ru Little and Do Wrong – both played by Snoop himself – who embody different careers and end up together in a robbery that goes terribly wrong. The video too “Stop Counting My Poccets” focuses on one of the two characters.
Lots of features, production by Pharrell among others
“10 Til’ Midnight” brings together features from Swizz Beatz, Peezy, Trinidad James, October London, Kanobby and Shawn Louisiana. Production is in the hands of Swizz, Pharrell Williams, Rick Rock, Soopafly, Nottz, MyGuyMars, Erick Sermin, YoungFyre – and Snoop himself.

Last year Snoop Dogg released “Is It A Crime?”his 21st solo album. In October, he teamed up with former The Voice contestant Jeremy Beloate for the single “Love Is Love” to support LGBTQ+ youth. The song was released in collaboration with advocacy organization GLAAD to mark Spirit Day – an annual initiative that mobilizes prominent voices against bullying of LGBTQ+ youth and their families.
The song follows controversial criticism Snoop made of the Disney film “Lightyear” in an interview earlier in August on the “It’s Giving… Podcast” for featuring a same-sex couple. “The story continues into the future, and at one point it says, ‘Then she had a child with a woman,'” Snoop said. “My grandson asks me in the middle of the movie, ‘Papa Snoop? How can she have a child with a woman? She’s a woman herself.’ Ah shit, that’s not what I came here for. I just wanted to watch the damn movie.”
