American Song Contest is an adaptation of the Eurovision Song Contest, which takes place in the United States. All 50 US states compete for the title of Best Original Song. The contest is hosted by Kelly Clarkson and Snoop Dogg. The two artists have worked together before: Clarkson is one of the judges of the American version of ‘The Voice’, where Snoop Dogg played the role of ‘mega mentor’ last season.
The American song contest is divided over eight shows in total. The final will take place on 9 May, a week before the final of the Eurovision Song Contest. First, there are preliminary rounds, followed by semi-finals and finally a grand final.
