This time, the Weekend Update of “Saturday Night Live” took a look at Trump’s likeness in his passport – as well as the state visit of King Charles III. and Queen Camilla, both times were officially dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

The U.S. State Department announced this week that a limited number of passports will feature Trump’s portrait on the inside cover, also ostensibly as a contribution to the semiquincentennial celebration. It is one of numerous actions by which Trump has his name or image immortalized on buildings, documents, coins and other honors.

Co-anchor Colin Jost joked that the presidential portrait in the travel document could be useful for some: “You always carry with you a reminder of why you left the country.”

Jost’s swipes at Trump

Jost also commented on the symbolism of the depiction: “I love that Trump’s image simultaneously burns a hole in the Declaration of Independence.”

Also in the segment, Jost addressed the British royal couple’s four-day state visit.

Among Charles’ goals for the visit was to “obtain the release of a British hostage being held by an American terrorist,” joked Jost – accompanied by a photo of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Che’s swipe at Mamdani

Michael Che then commented on the meeting between Charles and New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

“I’m surprised he didn’t take Mamdani with him to England – he’s an Indian treasure after all,” he joked.

“King Charles presented Trump with a bell from a British submarine at the White House state dinner reception and said, ‘If you ever need to reach us, just ring the bell,'” Jost said of the king’s gift.

The joke about “Andrew (Iceland)”

“Or Trump could simply call the contact saved in his phone as ‘Andrew (Island),'” he added – a reference to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the former prince whose association with Jeffrey Epstein led to the loss of his royal titles, his arrest and an ongoing investigation into alleged misconduct in public office.
