Sneijder said this on Monday evening during the talk show Rondo on Ziggo Sport. “I had a good conversation with Menno Geelen, that was a very nice conversation. How we talked about the club and the ideas we had for the club were good.”
“In the end we discussed a few things that I am not going to tell you here,” continues Sneijder, who does indicate that he will have to wait a while to hear what the new technical director wants. Currently that is Alex Kroes, but he has already indicated that he will quit and does not want to make any major changes that may be against the wishes of his successor.
Career
Sneijder played football for Ajax 1 between 2002 and 2007 and subsequently had great successes at foreign clubs. In addition, he became the record international player for the Dutch national team with 134 international matches.
More than two years ago, a return to Ajax was also discussed. Then Sneijder said after a number of conversations with the club that ‘no basis for cooperation‘, to come back to that later. It turned out that a return was not possible at that time.
