Fine update for the Czech small car, now offered in two new versions: Your Way and Be More. We tested the latter in the new Green Flow color and with the 1.0 Tsi with 95 HP and 5-speed manual gearbox
The Škoda Fabia is updated. In 2026 the intermediate trims will change: goodbye to Young Edition and 130 Edition, they enter Your Way And Be More. The first stands out for its 15″ wheels, metallic paint, parking sensors, rear camera, rear electric windows and compatibility with Apple Car Play and Android Auto. The second – the protagonist of the test in the new Green Flow colour, in collaboration with Pantone – features 16″ wheels, roof and rear-view mirrors in black or graphite grey, contrasting with the body colour, tinted windows starting from the B pillar and remote access services for 3 years. However, the standard Selection, the sporty Montecarlo and the exclusive 130 remain on the list.
1 Škoda Fabia 2026: prices
—
The Green Flow color you see in this test, offered free of charge for the two new versions, gives you a free trolley in polycarbonate signed Crash Baggage and the same color as the car. The Škoda Fabia 2026 has an entry cost of 20,700 euros (1.0 Mpi Selection), reaching up to 32,750 euros for the 1.5 Tsi Aci 130 Dsg. For a 1.0 Tsi Be More like the one featured in this test, you need 23,350 euros.
2 Škoda Fabia 2026: it’s comfortable
—
The new Be More setup makes use of the standard equipment of the Selection such as fog lights, cruise control (a little inconvenient, since it is positioned at the end of the turn signal control), digital dashboard and infotainment system compatible with Apple Car Play and Android Auto. The Be More, in addition to what is mentioned in the initial paragraph, also has lumbar adjustment of the seat for the driver, a height-adjustable seat for the passenger, a central armrest with relative storage compartment and the keyless. In short, a more than sufficiently complete set-up that always focuses on practicality: the seat is comfortable, relaxed and there is plenty of space even for the occupants of the second row (always keeping in mind the segment they belong to). Then the luggage compartment is satisfied, as on all Škodas: we start from 380 litres to reach a maximum load of 1,190 liters with the seats folded down.
3 Škoda Fabia 2026: under the hood
—
The two main engines of the current generation of Škoda Fabia remain on the list: the 1.0 three-cylinder and the 1.5 Tsi. The first, in the absence of a turbine, delivers 80 HP; supercharged, however, is available in power ratings of 95 and 116 HP. The 1.5 Tsi is finally available with 150 HP in the Montecarlo version or 177 HP in the even sportier “130”. The variant featured in the test features the 1.0 Tsi in the power cut 95 HP (between 5,000 and 5,500 rpm) and 175 Nm of torque between 1,600 and 3,500 rpm. Front-wheel drive, it has a 5-speed manual gearbox, smooth in shifts and capable of making the car reach a top speed of 190 km/h, with acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 10.7 seconds.
4 Škoda Fabia 2026: how much it consumes
—
First of all, a consideration: it’s true, the sixth gear is missing (present on the 116 HP variant), but you don’t regret it excessively. At 130 km/h on the motorway the car travels at 3,000 rpm, not a very low speed but not that high either. In this regard, consumption is interesting: Škoda claims around 20 km/l. A truthful figure, given that overall we recorded 19.5 km/lalternating the city with motorway stretches at 110 and 130 km/h without missing out on extra-urban terrain and even a bit of hilly scenery to test the car’s grit. At a constant 110 km/h the car even recorded 23 km/l, a very convincing figure. To try to further convey the goodness of this engine, on the consumption side, consider a fact: before resetting the partial, the car recorded an average consumption of 17.8 km/l over over 2,200 km. A fact which, read superficially, in itself says little; but knowing that it is a press fleet car and that it has certainly been used previously by colleagues for photos and videos, with abnormal use of the car, at reduced speeds and in low gears, these almost 18 km/l appear even more convincing than previously. Sometimes, with other B segments and such intense and anomalous use, it happened to read and then detect mileages in the order of 13 km/l.
5 Škoda Fabia 2026: how it goes
—
It may be a little less elastic than the 1.5 Tsi, but this 1.0 three-cylinder from the Volkswagen group remains a great engine, analyzing the thrust at low and medium speeds, consumption and general functioning. It remains the most logical choice for a compact car like the Fabia, which isn’t so compact given the minimum space of 380 liters in the luggage compartment and the convincing interior space, even for the rear passengers. The 16″ wheels certainly contribute to making it comfortable, but the credit also goes to the balance found by the Volkswagen group with this now super-tested Mqb-A0 platform. The clutch is soft, the fluid changethe brilliant engine from 1,600 rpm onwards, when it comes into torque, and the driving dynamics suggest a car that is always sincere, safe, pleasant to drive.
6 Škoda Fabia 2026: pros and cons
—
Below are the strengths and weaknesses found on the Škoda Fabia 2026 during our road test.
- Consumption: 19.5 km/l on average, a satisfactory figure; even 23 km/a constant speed of 110 km/h, despite the absence of sixth gear.
- Guide: soft clutch, smooth gearbox, brilliant engine just right thanks to the presence of the turbo and sincere, safe, pleasant driving dynamics.
- Comfort and space: of a high standard for its segment, with 16″ wheels that dampen impacts and sufficient space for both rear passengers and luggage.
- Cruise control management: the selector is on the arrow indicator, not the best of ergonomics.
