SKN separates from coaching duo Helm/Pogatetz – only seventh despite upgrade

Schlaudraff takes over

Second division team SKN St. Pölten is separating from its two equal head coaches Stephan Helm and Emanuel Pogatetz. The Lower Austrians are currently only in seventh place in the second league and are closer to relegation than promotion. The SKN started the season as title favorites with well-known newcomers such as Dario Tadic and Marc Stendera, but is lagging behind expectations.

Five winless games in a row were now too much for those responsible. Managing director Jan Schlaudraff will take the reins himself on an interim basis; a successor for the duo should be found by winter.

Schlaudraff said about the separation: “After intensive discussions with the sports management and the coaches, we came to the decision to part ways with Stephan Helm and Emanuel Pogatetz. Personally, I would like to express my thanks for the good and trusting collaboration with both of them and wish them all the best for the future.”
