Lindsey Vonn is the big favorite for Olympic gold. But the American falls during the dress rehearsal for the Winter Games. But her hope of competing at the Olympics lives on.

Ski star Lindsey Vonn has not yet given up her hope of competing at the Winter Olympics after her violent fall at the World Cup downhill in Crans-Montana. “My Olympic dream is not over yet,” wrote the 41-year-old on Instagram. She injured her left knee. She is discussing the situation with her doctors and the team and will undergo further examinations. “It’s a very bitter result a week before the Olympics… but if there’s one thing I can do, it’s a comeback,” Vonn assured.

The Olympic champion from the USA fell after just a few seconds of jumping in the race in Switzerland and slipped into a safety net. The 41-year-old, the best downhill skier of the winter and favorite for Olympic gold, only hesitantly got up again after some supervisors had looked after the athlete. Vonn was able to ski to the finish again, but he held his left knee several times.

The US association then announced that Vonn would be medically examined. The racer did not provide any information about the type or severity of her injury. If she has more information, she will share it, she wrote.

Vonn returned to the World Cup last season with a partial prosthesis in his right knee. She dared to make a comeback with the ultimate goal of winning another medal at this season’s Winter Games in Cortina d’Ampezzo.
