Halvor Egner Granerud landed half a meter earlier, but was slightly penalized for the wind. Anze Lanisek was third, before there was a small gap to what was then an extremely tight field.

Kraft and Hayböck are lurking

The Austrians are also in the running for a top result. Stefan Kraft and Michael Hayböck can be rated highly and were particularly impressive on Saturday with long jumps on the Hochfirstschanze. Manuel Fettner, Daniel Tschofenig, Jan Hörl and Philipp Aschenwald want to improve on Friday. Markus Müller would like to collect points again and consolidate his place in the team.

Again only Deschwanden

For the Swiss, it’s anything but an easy start to the season at the moment. Dominik Peter is not in shape, Killian Peier is only now getting back into competition rhythm after an injury. Like on Friday, the qualifying was over for both of them. Once again it is only Gregor Deschwanden who is represented in the competition. Simon Ammann has not entered the World Cup yet.

Can Geiger get involved?

On Friday, Karl Geiger was able to convince with a strong third place and today he should be among the extended group of favorites. The other DSV jumpers are still missing the last bit to jump at the top in Titisee-Neustadt. But everyone went through the qualification and in addition to Geiger, Pius Paschke, Constantin Schmid, Andreas Wellinger, Stephan Leyhe and Markus Eisenbichler are also there.
