Marius Lindvik (NOR) vs. Maciej Kot (POL)

Marius Lindvik looks tensely into the cameras. He knows that 126.5 meters is not what it takes to be at the front today. The posture grades are also low because his skis fall away when he goes out. Lindvik clearly loses his duel against Maciej Kot. But hope remains for the lucky losers. He is currently third there. Karl Geiger suffers the most, as he slips out of the final round.

2:19 p.m

Pawel Wasek (POL) vs. Johann Andre Forfang (NOR)

Pawel Wasek appears anything but relaxed in flight and despite a slight updraft, he cannot achieve more than 124.5 meters. The grades are also low for the Pole. This actually makes it impossible to win the duel with Forfang. The Norwegian then had no problems winning his duel, but he would certainly have set his sights on more than the 130 meters. This means he will only find himself in midfield.

2:17 p.m

Ilya Mizernykh (KAZ) vs. Gregor Deschwanden (SUI)

Ilya Mizernykh ensures that Wellinger and Geiger move down one place in the Lucky Losers. The Kazakh loses in a duel with Gregor Deschwanden. The 34-year-old Swiss won confidently with 132 meters and is currently second in the rankings behind Zografski.

2:15 p.m

Karl Geiger (GER) vs. Pius Paschke (GER)

In the German-German duel, Karl Geiger starts. In the take-off phase, however, he again doesn’t get through confidently; more than 122.5 meters are not possible. Pius Paschke can’t show his best jump afterwards either, but he still clearly wins the duel and moves on to the next round. For Geiger, however, it means trembling: He is only in fourth place among the lucky losers.

14:12

Naoki Nakamura (JPN) vs. Vladimir Zografski (BUL)

The tailwind continues and so Naoki Nakamura’s jump is worth a lot. 128.5 meters would give him the lead over Pedersen if he wins the duel against Zografski. But Zografski is also considered a jumper who loves tailwind conditions and with his confident technique he even goes to 131 meters. Zografski takes the lead ahead of Pedersen, Nakamura moves into first place in the Lucky Losers and therefore also has a good chance of making the final.

2:08 p.m

Isak Andreas Langmo (NOR) vs. Valentin Foubert (FRA)

The next duel will be opened by the Norwegian Langmo. With a slight tailwind, the 21-year-old leaves the door clearly open for Foubert with 124 meters, especially after the test was really strong. A little later, Valentin Foubert gets one meter further and that’s easily enough for him to progress thanks to more plus points in the wind compensation. Langmo takes over the leadership of the Lucky Losers.

2:06 p.m

Ben Bayer (GER) vs. Sandro Hauswirth (SUI)

Ben Bayer impressed with a wide set in the qualification yesterday, but today he doesn’t come in so well and seems a bit more tense. 120.5 meters might not be enough in a duel with Sandro Hauswirth from the Swiss team. Hauswirth doesn’t stay at the mark for long and goes down to 127.5 meters. The posture scores are also right, which puts him in second place behind Pedersen.

2:04 p.m

Andreas Wellinger (GER) vs. Robin Pedersen (NOR)

Andreas Wellinger opened the second duel of the day with a jump of 124.5 meters. But is that enough against Robin Pedersen? The Norwegian was significantly stronger in the test than the DSV jumper, but has a weakness in competition, so there may still be hope for Wellinger to advance directly. But Pedersen doesn’t allow himself any weakness, sails safely to 131.5 meters and confidently takes the lead. Wellinger has to hope for the lucky losers.

2:04 p.m

Rok Oblak (SLO) vs. Stefan Kraft (AUT)

After a weak qualification, it is Stefan Kraft’s turn in the first duel. He has to jump against Rok Oblak from Slovenia, who under normal circumstances shouldn’t be a big hurdle. But after a good test, surprisingly little works with Kraft! The Austrian can’t get over 123 meters and narrowly wins the duel against Oblak. This means that Kraft won’t be able to jump to the front today.

13:59

Lonely duel for Ortner

Maximilian Ortner’s progress is already known. Jason Colby from the USA failed the equipment check before his jump after his suit was 12 millimeters too long on the leg. For this reason, some athletes have been removed from the rankings in the last few days.

1:55 p.m

Pressure in the touring squad

There is likely to be pressure in the Swiss team. Sandro Hauswirth and Gregor Deschwanden certainly don’t have to worry about their participation in the tour jumping competitions in Austria, but veteran Simon Ammann and junior Juri Kesseli need to have good jumps today, because Felix Trunz and Killian Peier, who delivered good performances in the Continental Cup, are pushing from behind.

13:49

ÖSV athletes in waiting position

From an Austrian perspective, several athletes were again at the forefront yesterday. Jan Hörl jumped to second place, while Stephan Embacher not only took third place with a jump of 145.5 meters, but also set a new hill record. Stephan Embacher, Manuel Fettner, Daniel Tschofenig, Maximilian Ortner and Jonas Schuster also ended up in the top 15. It will be Stefan Kraft’s turn early today, who will jump in the first duel of the day as 25th in the qualification.

13:44

Six DSV Eagles survive qualifying

Domen Prevc didn’t show any weakness in yesterday’s qualification and won the round. The DSV jumpers Felix Hoffmann and Philipp Raimund were also able to convince in fifth and eighth positions. Like in Oberstdorf, there will be another German-German duel today. Pius Paschke and Karl Geiger meet in the sixth duel of the day. Andreas Wellinger and Ben Bayer are also early. They will compete in the second and third duels of the first round.

13:34

Prevc comes as tour leader

Domen Prevc shocked everyone at the start in Oberstdorf. After the first jump of the tour, the Slovenian immediately moved ahead in the overall standings by 17 points, putting a lot of pressure on all other jumpers. However, the tour is already over for his teammate Timi Zajc, who was initially ranked second. His suit was three millimeters too long, which is why he was disqualified in the subsequent material control. This means he has to bury all hopes of overall victory.

13:27
