Ski jumping live: Planica HS 240 singles in the live ticker | 03/27/2022 10:00

10:45

Finals at 10:57 a.m

After a short break, the second round continues in Planica. The start is scheduled for 10:57 am.

10:45

Swiss duo far behind

As expected, the duo from Switzerland is far behind. Gregor Deschwanden is 22nd with his jump of 208 meters. Killian Peier will open the final in a moment.

10:44

Kraft leads Austrians

The Austrian team is led by Stefan Kraft, who is eighth at half-time. Manuel Fettner and Michael Hayböck can also be found in positions 13 and 15 in the first half of the result lists. Daniel Huber is 19th with 218.5 meters. Jan Hörl (21st) and Daniel Tschofenig (24th) will jump in the first starter group.

10:43

German eagles in midfield

At half-time, the German ski pilots are in midfield. Karl Geiger is 14th and it has already been decided that he will not win the overall World Cup. The gap to first place is too big and Geiger would need it to catch Kobayashi. Andreas Wellinger is 17th. Constantin Schmid, Markus Eisenbichler, Stephan Leyhe and Severin Freund, who will be making the last flights of his career today, are 25th to 28th.

10:41

Lindvik leads at halftime

So at half-time it is Marius Lindvik who leads the standings. The Norwegian jumped 241.5 meters and scored 222.6 points. Ziga Jelar from Slovenia is 5.2 points behind. Piotr Żyła is third, 6.1 points behind.

10:38

Ziga Jelar (SLO)

Ziga Jelar had to jump many competitions in the Continental Cup this winter. Apparently that didn’t harm his self-confidence and he burns a long jump in the snow again. After 239 meters, Jelar is Lindvik’s closest pursuer and has the best chance of winning the Ski Flying World Cup.

10:37

Timi Zajc (SLO)

Timi Zajc misses the jump and gives away a few meters so early. The 21-year-old is good again in flight, but at 233 meters he can’t deliver the distance that is needed to put pressure on Lindvik.

10:35

Stefan Kraft (AUT)

Can Stefan Kraft also get involved? The Austrian’s flight is going well, but with 232 meters he won’t be able to match the top 3. Kraft ranked seventh in a tight intermediate classification.

10:34

Piotr Zyla (POL)

Piotr Żyła clenches his fists and shouts his joy at the strong flight. From the take-off to the landing, everything fits together for the experienced Pole and after 237.5 meters and three times the 19.0 for his posture, he takes second place, 6.1 points behind.

10:33

Peter Prevc (SLO)

Peter Prevc can ensure that the Slovenians can continue celebrating. With his jump of 235.5 meters, he too has to admit defeat to Lanisek, but he still has every chance towards the final. 8.7 points are possible on such a large hill.

10:31

Anze Lanisek (SLO)

It’s getting loud in the stadium and with Anze Lanisek it’s the next Slovene turn. Although it goes over 230 meters, Lindvik is far from dangerous. Lanisek is sixth, 13.3 points behind.

10:30 a.m

Ryo-yu Kobayashi (JPN)

Ryoyu Kobayashi cheers at the exit and celebrates one of his best flights here in Planica. After 235.5 meters he is only 9.6 points behind Lindvik.

10:29

Karl Geiger (GER)

Karl Geiger shows it at the exit. He wasn’t 100% satisfied with this flight. The timing is right at the take-off table, but the first few meters seem a little cramped and he can’t get the maximum out of it. With 225 meters and seventh place, the race for the overall World Cup is probably over. Because Geiger would have needed a win to overtake Kobayashi.

10:28

Yukiya Sato (JPN)

Yukiya Sato also pulls through and delivers the next long flight. After 236.5 meters, he is one of those who may hear the famous “Planica song” today. With 216.2 points in the classification, he takes second place in the classification.

10:26

Marius Lindvik (NOR)

Marius Lindvik opens the group of the last ten starters in the first round. Yesterday he had the best individual flights in the team competition and today Lindvik is hot for the top places! With a slight upwind he sails down to 241.5 meters. The grades are high and it goes to the top with a 9.6 point lead.

10:23

Manuel Fettner (AUT)

Manuel Fettner experienced the second spring of his career this season and has become one of the most important jumpers in the ÖSV team. With 223.5 meters he is doing well again and he is also in the race for the top positions.

10:22

Johann Andre Forfang (NOR)

Despite a good flight in the outrun, Johann Andre Forfang does not seem completely satisfied. Seems like he expected even more than the 220.5 meters.

10:21

Kamil Stoch (POL)

Kamil Stoch is also doing really well at the end of the season. With only slight updrafts, the 34-year-old also calls off a nice flight. 225 meters and good grades bring him third place.

10:19

Dawid Kubacki (POL)

Dawid Kubacki clenches his fist on the exit! The veteran’s flight is a perfect match and he can pull his flight down to 231 meters. The grades are really high and the deductions for the wind are small. As a result, Kubacki comes within two points of Prevc.

10:18

Michael Hayboeck (AUT)

Michael Hayböck, he started the season late, but has been performing since then and is now starting the final competition with a strong attempt. After 226 meters, Hayböck takes second place behind Cene Prevc.

10:17

Markus Eisenbichler (GER)

Markus Eisenbichler’s conditions are a little better again, he can get more out than Tschofenig before him, but he can’t. After 209.5 meters, the flight is over for him relatively early. Like many of his teammates, Eisenbichler also has to line up further back.

10:16

Daniel Tschofenig (AUT)

Daniel Tschofenig is one of the climbers of the season. With a slight updraft, he doesn’t get the best conditions either, so in the end he doesn’t make the big leap either. At 208.5 meters he will find himself further back.

10:15

Severin Freund (GER)

Bad luck for Severin Freund! The German is unlucky with the winds and then not much goes for him when he can’t get the technique right. At 190.5 meters he lands before the 200 meter mark.

10:14

Halvor Egner Granerud (NOR)

Halvor Egner Granerud really has to do magic in aviation. The Norwegian comes out wrong, has to work a lot and can’t deliver the distances he showed yesterday. With 218 meters he is the new second behind Prevc.

10:13

Daniel Huber (AUT)

The next Austrian is Daniel Huber’s turn. With 218.5 meters, he’s doing well again, but Prevc and Wellinger can’t get past.

10:11

Andreas Wellinger (GER)

Class! Wellinger does not get the jump cleanly and is a bit too late, but in flight he is really good at it, creates a good air cushion and glides up to 223 meters. He moves up to second position in front of Kos.

10:10

Lovro Kos (SLO)

It’s getting loud in the stadium again. A sign that the next Slovenian is going over the hill. Kos is also good at flying and makes another jump in the snow with 219.5 meters. He takes second place.

10:09 a.m

Naoki Nakamura (JPN)

Naoki Nakamura can’t match the distance of his competitor, but the 25-year-old certainly didn’t expect that either. After 211.5 meters he can definitely be satisfied with his performance in the first round.

10:08

Scene Prevc (SLO)

Cene Prevc gets the spectators boiling and shows: The Slovenians want the Nations Cup! Prevc uses the good updrafts, lays well over the skis and actually covers the 241 meters. Sure, he’s clearly at the top.

10:07

Constantine Schmid (GER)

Schmid was anything but happy with the wings he delivered yesterday. Today the German is coping a bit better and at least it’s a solid distance of 210 meters. There are three 18.0s for posture and he finds himself in third place.

10:05

Jan Hoerl (AUT)

Jan Hörl has been able to celebrate some great successes this season and he can also make a nice jump again at the final in Planica. It will be 214 meters for him. Posture gets solid marks and he takes first place.

10:04

Stephan Leyhe (GER)

Stephan Leyhe gets off the ski jump well. After that he has to make a short correction, but then the jump goes through cleanly. With 204.5 meters he ranks second behind Deschwanden.

10:03

Gregor Deschwanden (SUI)

It is already the turn of the second Swiss. What can Gregor Deschwanden get out of it now? He catches a slight tailwind, but with 208 meters he can still put the first set over 200 meters in front of the audience.

10:02 a.m

Junshiro Kobayashi (JPN)

Junshiro Kobayashi can’t look back on an easy season either. He can now sail over the distance of Peier, but he must have hoped for more than 188 meters.

10:01 a.m

Killian Peier (SUI)

The competition will also be opened directly with Switzerland. Since the jumping is based on the level of the Ski Flying World Cup, it is Killian Peier’s turn early on. The 26-year-old is fighting his way through again and has to land at 175 meters.

09:57

Twice Switzerland

Switzerland can take part in the competition today with Killian Peier and Gregor Deschwanden. However, both athletes should not necessarily calculate results far ahead after the previous ski flying this season did not go well.

09:53

Six athletes from the DSV team

With six starters, the German team is also there today. For them, Karl Geiger is a guarantor for top performances, even in the final stages of the season. With the other German athletes, however, not every jump seems to fit. In addition to the World Cup runner-up, Markus Eisenbichler, Severin Freund, Andreas Wellinger, Constantin Schmid and Stephan Leyhe will be at the start.

09:49

Six Austrians at the start

The Austrians can start the last competition of the season with six starters. Stefan Kraft certainly has the best chance of fighting for victory today. Manuel Fettner, Michael Hayböck, Daniel Tschofenig as well as Daniel Huber and Jan Hörl also have to work hard to secure the Nations Cup.

09:45

Slovenians favorites again

Today the Slovenians are once again the big favorites to win. In particular, Timi Zajc and Peter Prevc can raise hopes. But Ziga Jelar and Anze Lanisek should also be at the top of the list. Marius Lindvik from Norway also wants to be involved when the last win of the winter is awarded.

09:42

What else is it about?

There is also a lot at stake at the finale in Planica. In the World Cup, Ryoyu Kobayashi has the best chance of taking the Big Crystal Globe for the second time in his career, but Karl Geiger still has arithmetic chances. The Ski Flying World Cup has not yet been decided either. Here Ziga Jelar leads with 230 points ahead of teammate Timi Zajc (138 points). Stefan Kraft is also still in the running with 200 points. And the Nations Cup has not yet been decided either. After the recent strong results, Slovenia has gotten back into the conversation there and is putting pressure on the leading Austrians.

09:36

30 athletes at the start

As usual, only the best 30 athletes present in the current World Cup standings are allowed to start at the last competition of the season. Today they come from a total of seven nations.

09:28

Welcome!
