The first competition starts at 4 p.m. in Ljubno, Slovenia. The Austrian Marita Kramer is the first to leave the beam and has to face the Finn Julia Kykkänen in a direct duel.

Canadian wins the qualification

The favorites struggled on the Logarska Dolina hill in Ljubno, Slovenia. It is better for the Canadian Alexandria Loutitt. The 18-year-old jumped 91.5 meters after a short inrun and won the qualification with 128 points ahead of Sara Takanashi from Japan with 89 meters and 122.2 points. Nika Kriznar from Slovenia came third with 121.5 points.

As in the second competition in Villach, the two Swiss athletes Sina Arnet and Emely Torazza qualified for the knockout duels. They finished 33rd and 38th in the qualification. Arnet has to deal with Nicole Konderla (Poland) and Torazza with Silje Opseth (Norway). So the chances of reaching the second round are very low.

The qualification did not go well for the Austrian. Chiara Kreuzer was the best of them and finished 16th and was the only Austrian in the top 20. Jacqueline Seifriedsberger still ended up in 23rd place. Sara Marita Kramer did not get past 26th place and will have to play tomorrow in the first duel against Julia Kykkänen from Finland . Eva Pinkelnig, who only finished 29th in qualifying, also had to push off the beam quite early. She also has a Finnish opponent in Jenny Rautionaho. Hannah Wiegele qualified 34th.

After Agnes Reisch no longer traveled to Ljubno in Slovenia due to knee problems, five German jumpers qualified for today’s competition. The Austrian won the first two competitions in Villach and leads the ranking of the New Year’s Tournament with 518.1 points ahead of Nika Kriznar, who is 23.5 points behind. Norway’s Anna Odine Stroem is third with 493.9 points. Only very close behind with 0.2 points less on the account is the German Katharina Althaus in fourth place. The girl from Oberstdorf took second place behind Pinkelnig in the second competition in Villach.
