Ski jumping in Oslo: Almost a year after the horror fall – Daniel Andre Tande wins sensationally – ski jumping – winter sports

Eisenbichler still flies over Geiger

After the first round, Geiger was in fifth place with 130 meters, but he was not able to convince in the second attempt with 128 meters. Not only did he fall back to seventh place in the competition, he even had to let a teammate, Eisenbichler, who was clearly behind him before, go. But: Geiger was second in the raw air ranking and made up some ground in the overall World Cup.

After Markus Eisenbichler was only 1.6 points short of victory on Saturday, he was unable to fight for first place on Sunday. After the first round he was eleventh with only 127 meters, but showed his class again in the second jump. With 135.5 meters he managed the best distance of the entire weekend in Oslo and even worked his way into the top five in fourth place and became the best German.

Two mediocre performances, two big disappointments

A weak second attempt prevented Constantin Schmid from placing better. After 125 meters and 17th place in the first round, he only landed at 123 meters and was 23rd. Andreas Wellinger finished the competition after attempts over 119.5 and 124.5 meters in 25th place.

The Raw Air final was extremely disappointing for two DSV jumpers: Stephan Leyhe was eliminated as 54th in the qualification, Severin Freund only jumped 116.5 meters in the competition and had to watch the second round from outside as 39th.
