The German ski jumpers continue to disappoint after the Olympics. Selina Freitag achieved the best German result in sixth place.
At the first World Cup competition after the Winter Olympics, the German ski jumpers once again missed the podium in Hinzenbach. Selina Freitag landed in sixth place on the normal hill with two jumps of 84.5 meters each. Victory was secured by the Slovenian Nika Prevc, who narrowly missed out on gold at the Olympics in Predazzo.
After Friday, Agnes Reisch and Anna Hollandt improved to tenth and eleventh place after good attempts in the second round.
Katharina Schmid came in 18th. The German flag bearer at the Olympic opening ceremony will end her ski jumping career at the end of the season. The 24-year-old won silver in Pyeongchang in 2018 and four years later in Beijing. At the 2026 Winter Olympics, the 29-year-old failed in the first round on the large hill. Afterwards she had to fight back tears.
