The big favorite came, saw and won: the Swiss Marco Odermatt won the Super-G at the Alpine Ski WM in Saalbach-Hinterglemm at the Alpine Ski World Cup. On the “Snow crystal” slope on the Zwölferkogel, the 27-year exceptional artist outclassed the competitors with a second lead and more.
However, the Austrians were also allowed to cheer: Raphael Haaser, whose sister Ricarda had seriously injured himself the day before at Stephanie Venier’s Super-G victory, drove to silver (+1.00 seconds). The Norwegian Adrian Smiseth Sejsted (+1.15), the first to start, won bronze.
For Odermatt, also a big favorite on the departure on Sunday (11.30 a.m./ARD and Eurosport), it is the third World Cup gold after his victories in the departure and in the giant slalom 2023. Giant slalom, in the past three years he has won the overall World Cup, plus a total of six small crystal balls.
