Skater Irene Schouten extends for four years at Team Zaanlander

Speed ​​skater Irene Schouten has signed with Team Zaanlander for four years. “I am happy that I can stay with this team at least until the coming Winter Games,” said Schouten.

Schouten now has certainty until the 2026 games in Milan. The thirty-year-old from North Holland has had a dream season. She won three golds and one bronze at the Beijing Olympics.

“After a very hectic year and a busy summer, I don’t really know where I stand yet. Only after a few weeks of skating I know what my level is and from there I will set my goals. For me it is now important to have fun have,” said Schouten.

The team is in full preparation for the upcoming season. One of the most important tournaments will be the World Single Distance Championships in Thialf. That tournament is from 2 to 5 March in Heerenveen.
