Chris Huizinga, who comes from Garnwerd, is feeling great. “My last training match was very good. I feel strong”, says the 25-year-old Jumbo-Visma skater on the eve of the NK distances in Thialf, Heerenveen. During the previous edition, despite a bad cold, he won a bronze medal in the 1500 meters in a time of 1.45.27. He only had to tolerate the toppers Thomas Krol and Kjeld Nuis on the skating mile, but surprisingly stayed ahead of Patrick Roest.
