The suspect was arrested on Saturday afternoon in cooperation with the Belgian authorities. Previously, the police had arrested two 37-year-old men from Almere and three men aged 17, 20 and 24 from Rotterdam. The 49-year-old woman from Hoofddorp has still not been found.
The woman from Hoofddorp left for work in Beverwijk in a black car last Wednesday, but never arrived. Her car was later found in a neighborhood in Nieuw-Vennep, not far from Hoofddorp.
Raid in Oosterschelde home
After her disappearance, the front door of a house on the Oosterschelde in Hoofddorp was broken open by officers with a battering ram. The police confirmed to NH on Wednesday evening that they had raided the house following the kidnapping.
Police shared a photo of her last Friday. People from Hoofddorp who have relevant images from doorbell cameras, for example, are called upon to share them.
