Tel Aviv/Gaza (dpa -AfX) – The Islamist Hamas in the Gaza Strip wants to release six more hostages on Saturday, three of them earlier than planned. The handover is scheduled to start at 11:00 a.m. local time (10:00 a.m. CET). In return, Palestinian information is provided that Israel will be released around 600 Palestinian prisoners from prisons, among them 60 criminals with long prison judgments.

Among the six hostages to be released are two men who are held by Hamas for around ten years. They had crossed the border to the Gaza Strip on their own. According to Israeli information, both have to deal with psychological problems.

The other four men were deported on October 7, 2023 by Hamas and other extremist groups at their unprecedented massacre in southern Israel with 1,200 deaths. Three of them kidnapped the terrorists at the Nova Music Festival near the Gaza border, a Kibbutz Beeri near the border when he visited relatives ./cir/gm/dp/ngu
