News anchor Milla Madetoja43, says in a recent Mightily in an interview that he was diagnosed with cancer at the beginning of the year during a routine check-up. There were no symptoms, so acute leukemia was a big shock to him. He received cytostatic treatments for his illness and then the search began for a suitable donor for a stem cell transplant, which was found in Germany.

Madetoja soon heard the good news: her sister was also a suitable donor.

– He said he was a suitable donor for me. It shouldn’t be a surprise that I cried again, he tells Yle.

The stem cell transplant performed in May worked, and at the moment Madetoja is at home, jogging and managing to do everyday chores.

Milla Madetoja recently shared in an Instagram post how happy she is when her hair grows.

– This hair is already quite a hair! I had the Mikko Mallikas era, the rairuoho era and most recently a centimeter of fleece and a microphone, but now it’s all fleda, he recently wrote on social media.

He also wondered if it would be possible to get curls in his hair as an aftereffect of the cytostats.

Madetoja told about his illness in July. The news anchor has actively published material related to his illness on social media. According to Madetoja, cancer treatments are behind us now.
