More than a clue, pending official communication, comes from the video shot at the exit of the Hotel Palazzo Paris in Milan, at the time of departure for China: the day before Sinner had presented its new foundation, and yesterday morning, when she left Milan to fly to the East to defend the Beijing final and the title in Shanghai, next to him appeared just resnicoff with the manager Alex Vittur. The choice came in a moment of change for Jannik, who has been just lively retired for months: first the divorce from the physiotherapist Ulyresses Badio and the athletic trainer Marco Panichi on the eve of Wimbledon, then in July the announcement of the return to the team of the old “fitness coach” Umberto Ferrara, who had been temporarily removed after the Climb.

Resnicoff has been active in international tennis higher level for about twenty years. In an old interview he told his profession as follows: “In the field we hear pressure, because we have very little time and we know that the other player is waiting for. It is a beautiful but tiring job”. His task, he explained, focuses above all in prevention: “We try to anticipate the problems and prepare players before games. But we must also intervene during and after, when there are trauma or excessive fatigue”. In medical time-out, which last three minutes, the speed is everything, as Argentine himself knows: “In those moments you have to decide quickly what can be done. We recommend, we indicate risks and benefits, but the final choice whether to continue or retire belongs to the player”.

With Sinner, Resnicoff does not start from scratch anyway. At the US Open 2024 the Argentine physio had spoke at the field change after the fall of the blue on the 4-4 of the second set: Jannik, leaning with his left hand to cushion the impact with the concrete, had hurt the wrist. This year at Wimbledon Resnicoff he then witnessed Sinner in the match against Dimitrov, taking care of the Ellargus of the blue and then of the unfortunate Bulgarian who torn the left breastplate and was forced to retire. In short, number two in the world has chosen a precise professional profile to complete its team: a physiotherapist used to working under pressure, specialized both in the treatment and in the prevention and planning of recovery. And that, not a small thing, he already knows his body in detail. Among other things, for the blue the story is always repeated in the same period: exactly one year ago, on the eve of the departure for Beijing, Sinner announced the beginning of the collaboration with Panichi and Badio, also Argentine.
