Jannik Sinner, phase two. The world number 1 is now taking a few days to relax with his family: the holidays are calling, then he will return his mind to the Australian Open. The Italian, after two intense weeks of preparation in Dubai, has landed again in his Sesto Pusteria, in Alto Adige, as evidenced by the photo with a very young fan. Christmas in the family, according to tradition: “The day that I love spending most of all with my family, with my parents. I don’t care about birthdays, Easter or other days, but I care a lot about Christmas” the blue said some time ago about the winter holidays and the importance of seeing loved ones again before the official start of the season.

Jannik closed the winter phase one by also announcing it on social media. A collage of photos on Instagram to briefly tell the sensations of the period in Dubai, the one marked by the return to the efforts on the field after the celebrations for the second Davis in a row. And the caption: “After two solid weeks of preparation, I feel great! I wish everyone a Merry Christmas.” With attached photos between the court and the gym, among the staff who followed him carefully dreaming of the second Australian Open in a row: the coaches Simone Vagnozzi and Darren Cahill, the athletic trainer Marco Panichi and the physiotherapist Ulises Badio.

approach to slam

Now on Sinner’s agenda is a bit of relaxation in the snow. Then, after Boxing Day, the departure for Monte Carlo to enter the third phase before the official start of the season. Jannik should move to the Principality on the 27th, and will also spend New Year’s Eve there, barring any changes in plans. The next phase? The departure for Australia, most likely on January 2nd, when the approach to the Slam will come into full swing. The first match on the other side of the world, for the blue, will be an exhibition against the host Popyrin during the Opening Week of the Australian Open, a series of charity matches. The challenge that will see the blue protagonist will begin at 6 in the morning on January 7th. From the 12th, then, it’s off to the Slam.
