Sing along with ABBA from the water at ‘Drijf-in cinema’ Langedijk

On boats, along the shore and from the garden: the film ‘Mamma Mia!’ was enjoyed in many places in Langedijk this weekend. and the music of ABBA that naturally accompanies it. And on a big screen, because the water that will become the Dijk en Waard Canal Park in the future was transformed into a ‘floating-in cinema’.

It was enjoyable on, but also a bit under, water. It was raining cats and dogs and that was of course not what the organization had in mind for this event – but nevertheless it did not spoil the fun.

With a good rain suit and some treats at hand, the Langedijkers sat down: “This is a great idea, wonderful,” said enthusiastic visitors to media partner Dijk en Waard Central.

Ellen Klaus, the area developer of the Canal Park, explains that the conscious choice was made for something ‘special’: “That belongs here, I think you should do something here that suits the place.”

Free

The ABBA sing-alongs were certainly well received, the park in the making was a very festive place. And the rain – that’s just part of it, so the visitors didn’t let it fool them: “How Dutch do you want it to be? It’s free!”
