A special milestone in the career of every artist is a guest appearance in the legendary American animated series “The Simpsons”. Many musicians have already received this honor, including Michael Jackson, 50 Cent, Green Day and Coldplay. Now Billie Eilish can also join this list.

In the short When Billie met Lisa, the seven-time Grammy winner becomes aware of a young saxophone talent under a bridge: Lisa Simpson, who has retreated there after Homer, Bart and Marge disturbed her rehearsals at her house. Of course, Lisa doesn’t turn down Billie Eilish’s offer to go into the studio with her to make music together, so the two immediately play a session and reinterpret the Simpsons theme song.

Billie Eilish does not come to Springfield without family support, her brother Finneas O’Connell accompanies her. Bart seizes the opportunity to quip: “So you spend your whole life helping your sister?”

In general, the short film does not treat its protagonists squeamishly and, in the usual “Simpsons” manner, makes jokes at the expense of others. Disney gets it too: In reference to their concert film “Happier Than Ever”, cartoon Eilish complains: “I still haven’t been paid for the film.”

“When Billie met Lisa” is not a regular “Simpsons” episode, but an approximately four-minute short film. It’s been on Disney+ since April 22nd. “The Simpsons” has been running since 1989 and now has a total of 724 episodes in 33 seasons, making the series officially the longest-running American sitcom.
