Simple Minds’ new album, Direction Of The Heart, will be released on October 21, 2022. It is the eighteenth studio album by the Glasgow, Scotland-based band.
In addition, since June 14, 2022, there is a new single called “Vision Thing”. While guitarist Charlie Burchill composed the song, frontman Jim Kerr devoted himself to the lyrics: “Vision Thing” is a tribute to Kerr’s father, who passed away in 2019. New album: “Direction Of The Heart”
Direction Of The Heart is the follow-up to 2018’s Walk Between Worlds album. Of Direction Of The Heart, Kerr said, “How do you make a feel-good electro rock record in the worst of times? ‘Direction Of The Heart’ is the result of this challenge. Who knew we would have so much fun making it?”
Recordings took place in Italy and Germany
The recordings for “Direction Of The Heart” took place in Sicily and in the Chameleon Studios in Hamburg. Simple Minds received support from Andy Wright, who has already worked with artists such as Jeff Beck and Echo & The Bunnymen, and Gavin Goldberg.
The group is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and is playing a tour across Europe to mark the anniversary. You can experience them again in Germany on July 1st in Munich and on August 5th in Bonn. All other tour dates follow below. There are remaining tickets for the tour here.
