Ballack emphasized that this pressure does not diminish with age, noting, “People expect you to look like a 30-year-old at 60.” Through her images, she wants to convey the message that one can liberate oneself from these unrealistic standards.
Additionally, she revealed to Bunte that the “Playboy” shoot took place in Portugal, the country where her son Emilio tragically passed away in a quad accident five years ago. “I intentionally chose to do it there,” she said. “I can’t avoid Portugal my entire life.” This experience was a blend of work and healing for her. “The shoot lasted only two days; then I spent five days alone, walking along the beach and processing everything.”
