The men had to complete eight laps of 16 kilometers, good for a total of about 128 kilometers and approximately 1,200 meters of elevation gain. The selective course did not cause major differences for a long time. The peloton stayed together for a long time and it was only halfway through the race that the first real escape attempts came.
Ultimately, Axel Van Dijck and Simon Van der Voort were able to break away from the peloton. The two stayed in front and were allowed to sprint for the Belgian title.
In the sprint they attacked from afar, but Van der Voort turned out to be the strongest. He beat Van Dijck and can call himself Belgian junior champion.
