Sijsele bus accident: “Twelve passengers slightly injured”

The accident happened around 1.30 pm in Gentsesteenweg in Sijsele. “A regular bus has ended up in the canal on the Gentse Steenweg (N9)”, says Isolde Van Eenooghe, spokeswoman for the Local Police Damme / Knokke-Heist.

“The regular bus was driving in the direction of Maldegem when it went wrong for some reason. There were adults and also young people on the bus. Twelve passengers were slightly injured and were taken to hospital. The cause of the accident is currently unknown. no information yet.”

The accident has caused significant traffic disruption in the area. The bus must be towed.
