From a bad role model to a discounter advertising model: Sido is currently advertising barbecue products. Kaufland is currently selling BBQ sauces, beef briskets, BBQ ribs and pulled pork under the name “Sidos Beste”. The discounter even shot its own advertising clip on the occasion of the advertising deal. In the video, Sido turns the grilled food that can now be purchased with golden grill tongs – in the middle of a Kaufland branch. Also at the start: Twitch streamer and entertainer Jens Knossalla aka “Knossi”, rap colleague Manny Marc and Sascha Hellinger from “UnsympatheticTV”. An influencer combo that could certainly meet with great approval from the classic grilled food consumer.
The celebrities seen in the promotional video were already seen in the same combination at the “Angelcamp” streamed live on Twitch in summer 2020. At that time, the four fished, drank and chatted together with various guests in Brandenburg and thus broke the then German viewer record on Twitch: around 200,000 viewers watched the event live. A few months later, they set another viewership record with another livestream event, “Horrorcamp”. This time, 330,000 people watched at the same time.
Bushido recently made headlines when he advertised a teeth whitening product and looked awkward. Several celebrities made fun of the gangsta rapper at the time. Sido should have shown a better instinct with his advertising deal and at least escaped too much ridicule.
