Matthieu Bonne started this morning at the first of three record attempts this year. He wants to break the 48-hour record in three disciplines, and was in Taipei in Taiwan for the first: at least 473 kilometers walk in 48 hours.
But after a few hours Bonne has had to get out of the competition. The Bredenaar had an airway infection, and was no longer able to continue with the risk of pneumonia. The disappointment is great, hears our editors at his entourage. “He worked here for months, to have to get out of the competition in such a way, Matthieu will have to process that.”
