Sick Ernest Poku will not go to Bosnia and Herzegovina with AZ

The most notable absentee from AZ’s selection for the European away match against HŠK Zrinjski Mostar is Ernest Poku. The talented attacker is ill and remains behind in the Netherlands. However, goalkeeper Rome-Jayden Owusu-Oduro and midfielder Tiago Dantas return to the Alkmaar selection after injuries.

The 22-person selection left from Schiphol for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Playing city Mostar is located in the south of the Balkan country. Zrinjski Mostar has won the league title eight times and is currently in ninth place in the national league. However, AZ’s opponent has played fewer matches than the other clubs.

The match against the Bosnians is the first group match in the Conference League. The two other opponents for AZ are Legia Warschau from Poland and the English Aston Villa.
