Jurgen van den Berg, presenter on NPO Radio 1, is absolutely not impressed by the programs RTL Boulevard and Shownieuws. He thinks one is worse than the other.
Jurgen van den Berg’s lover, court artist Petra Urban, invariably watches RTL Boulevard. “My secret pleasure is watching RTL Boulevard. By the way, I must say that they have their crime department in order,” she says in a double interview with Jurgen for the VARAguide-tube & hearth section.
First Division
As a result, Jurgen sometimes sees Boulevard passing by, but that doesn’t make him very happy. “Boulevard is a kind of Jiskefet for me. They manage to spread the greatest possible nonsense with the most serious faces. It will be worst to me who is now divorced again.”
He continues: “I sometimes watch Today inside and then you get Shownieuws afterwards. That’s even worse. That is even one step lower than the First Division.”
Johan Derksen
Today Inside is a point of contention between Jurgen and his girlfriend. She finds Johan Derksen disgusting: “I am annoyed by Johan Derksen. When it comes to football, he will often be right, but the way he talks about people I find derogatory and not nice. And often things go well, but I don’t think he can unlearn that negative.”
Jurgen then: “The fact that he doesn’t care about anything and anyone is also his strength at the same time. I have been following the man for years and often I think: why are you saying that? It’s also tough work. But I’m still a fan. It is clear that he has become more right-wing lately. Sunday with Lubach is really great.”
