Shots fired in Copenhagen shopping mall – multiple victims

Shots were fired in a shopping center in Copenhagen on Sunday evening. This was reported by the police in the Danish capital on Twitter. Accordingly, several people were hit by bullets.

The police have sent massive reinforcements to the affected shopping center “Fields”, which is located in the Amager district between the center of Copenhagen and the airport.

It was initially unclear whether there were any deaths. Nevertheless, the police called on people who were in the “Fields” to report to their relatives.

Copenhagen Mayor Sophie H. Andersen (47) tweeted after the incident: “We do not yet know exactly how many people are injured or dead, but it is very serious.” The city is in close contact with the police and is ready to help.

The newspaper “Ekstra Bladet” reported shortly before 6.30 p.m. that many people had fled the shopping center.

One person was arrested, investigators said. The police initially did not give any further details about the suspect.

Speaking to TV2, an eyewitness said: “I was standing on the top floor with my girlfriend and I could see people suddenly running towards the exit. Then we heard a bang and we ran out too.”

In the vicinity of the shopping center there is also a large multi-purpose hall, the Royal Arena. A sold-out concert by British singer Harry Styles (28) was planned there on Sunday.

According to the current status, this should not be canceled either. on Facebook the organizers wrote: “The police have also given the green light for the concert to take place as planned.” The start of the performance is scheduled for 9 p.m.
