Short track speed skaters are knocked over in a winning position and have to settle for European Championship silver in the mixed relay

A downer for the Dutch short track team at the European Championships. During the final of the mixed relay, the Dutch team was on course for gold in Dresden, Germany, but an Italian tapped Jens van ‘t Wout, the European champion at the 500 and 1500 meters, after which the Dutchman crashed. Italy was disqualified, leaving the Netherlands with silver. The gold medal went to France.
