Shopify strengthens EMEA leadership team

Shopify is strengthening its European leadership team.

With Emilie Benoit-Vernay, Benjamin Lang and Lara Rosquët, the Canadian e-commerce service provider is filling three key positions in the EMEA region. The appointments come as the company looks to drive growth in the region and increase support for its merchants, partners and innovative product development, Shopify said Tuesday.

All three appointments involve promotions within the company. Benoit-Vernay, who according to her profile on career network Linkedin has been with Shopify for just over five years, has been appointed to the role of Director of Partnerships for EMEA. She previously held the title of Head of Partnerships, Southern Europe. In her new role, Benoit-Vernay will be responsible for leading and growing the partner ecosystem within EMEA markets and overseeing the Shopify teams that work with our solutions and technology partners, according to the release.

Benjamin Lang, who previously held the role of Head of Northern Europe Partnerships, has only been part of the company since 2022. In his future role, where he will oversee both Northern Europe and the DACH region, he will be responsible for building and strengthening these markets.

The third in the group, Lara Rosquët, was appointed Country Lead for France. She has been with Shopify since 2016 and has held numerous positions since then, most recently the role of Head of EMEA New Channel Partnerships & DACH Partnerships. In the future, she will be responsible for expanding market growth, growing the partner ecosystem and leading the team culture in France.

The e-commerce platform invested in its European growth strategy with two personnel back in June. At that time, Deann Evans was appointed Managing Director, EMEA, and Birk Angermann was appointed Head of Revenue, EMEA.
