It concerns a 20-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man, a police spokesperson told NH. They were driving through the center of Aalsmeer when things went terribly wrong. After the car knocked over a lamppost in Dorpsstraat, two shophouses in the street were also rammed.
Copy shop and hair salon
One of these is the old store of copy shop Total Copy Service, which moved to the nearby Zijdstraat a while ago. Photos show that the facade is damaged and a wooden plate has been temporarily placed in front of the shop window.
The building is scheduled for demolition, the owner of the copy shop tells NH. According to him, the building is not currently used as a shop and no one lives above the business premises.
The second building is a hair salon, where some of the windows in the shop window were also shattered. “It must have happened at a lot of speed,” says the owner of the copy shop, “because a bicycle rack was also knocked over.”
