Shoe retailer Lloyd opens its largest concept store in Greding

The German shoe retailer Lloyd Shoes GmbH has opened its largest concept store to date in Greding, Bavaria. The store is “located directly on the Autobahn 9 between Nuremberg and Ingolstadt” and has an area of 390 square meters, the company announced on Thursday.

The store is something special for Lloyd not only because of its size: “We are trying to rethink stationary retail,” explained Andreas Schaller, spokesman for the management of Lloyd Shoes GmbH, in a statement. “With the location on this busy motorway, we want to test a new concept. For the first time, we are establishing a Lloyd Concept Store outside of city centers or airports, which is frequented by our customers due to its convenient location.”

In Greding, the traditional brand now offers “its entire collection of women’s and men’s shoes as well as accessories and textiles”. In addition, “shoes from previous seasons are offered at a special price on a smaller part of the retail space,” said Lloyd.

According to the company, it has more than thirty concept stores in Germany as well as in international cities such as Copenhagen, Lima and Beijing. All in all, Lloyd’s products are currently on sale in 48 countries at around 2,800 points of sale.
