Spanish racing cyclist Jaume Guardeno23, had a serious accident during his training on Tuesday, says Diario As.
The promising cyclist had been training in the municipality of Centelles in Spain when he hit a rock on his bike. In the situation, Guardeno lost control of his bike and crashed into a car.
Guardeno suffered a serious head injury and was airlifted to the nearest hospital. According to the Spanish newspaper, he is being sedated, and his condition is serious.
The team represented by the cyclist, Caja Rural, has confirmed the accident on their X account.
Guardeno is one of Spain’s rising cycling stars. Before the accident, it was considered almost certain that he would debut this year in the Tour de France.
