“Shocked and sad”: Niels Destadsbader tells his story for the first time about a serious fire that destroyed his loft | Instagram VTM NEWS

LtdNiels Destadsbader (35) has responded for the first time to the black fire that destroyed his loft, located above a warehouse of a lighting manufacturer. “It’s not the stones. Nor the clothes. But the memories disappeared,” said the Flemish singer with a photo on Instagram.

“Shocked and sad,” the photo continues. “But also very grateful that everyone is safe and you are so kind.” Various BVs are now supporting Niels. “Good luck, friend,” says Karen Damen, among others. Belle Perez then left the following comment. “Love to you mate.” In addition, Siska Schoeters, Kate Ryan, Stephanie Planckaert and Sam De Bruyn also responded to the message.

The fire broke out at HVP Lighting, a lighting manufacturer in Deerlijk. A roofer who was working at the company at the time raised the alarm. Six people present immediately left the company, no one was injured. Destadsbader, who lives above the company, was also present at the time of the fire. The singer was able to leave his loft in time and also managed to get his dog to safety. He also alerted his parents, who live two houses away. Those two adjacent houses were also in danger for a while, but the fire brigade – which arrived on the scene with 90 people – was able to save them.

Immediately after the fire, several crowdfundings were also set up for the Flemish singer and actor. One of the promotions has now raised just over 2,000 euros. The second support campaign raised slightly less for the time being, around 500 euros. “He has nothing left. We often went to his performances and not only enjoyed the music, but also made friends,” said the initiators. Now we want to give something back.”
