Shock to the top – will KooKoo surprise Tappara at the semi-finals?

The league’s most interesting semi-finals start today.

The most interesting game of the day

The League Tappara – KooKoo semi-final series starting today is historically a meeting between a giant and a flowerpot.

For Tappara, the semi-finals are already ninth in the tube! (In the 2019–2020 season, the playoffs were not played due to the corona pandemic) KooKoo, on the other hand, is this far for the first time in its league history.

The balance of power this season is also at least in the regular season rankings, with a strong look at Tappara’s brand after Tappara’s victory in the regular season and KooKoo’s eighth place finish. Of the previous encounters of the season, Tappara has won three out of four. The goals scored in the four encounters of the regular season were 4.0 per match.

Tappara will get into this series with five days of rest and preparation, while KooKoo was still playing the semi-finals against the Jukors on Wednesday. Taking into account the spring of the whole playoffs, Tappara’s rest advantage over the people of Kouvola will only rise to a more decisive role if the series is extended, as the Match Days are closed in a really tight timeline.

In today’s opening game, KooKoo’s better playing experience may be an even more significant factor than the different strains of the teams, and it’s not worth overreacting to this fatigue factor now. In general, the start of the series is the best time for surprises for underdogers, when the favorite has not yet been able to lay out the pieces of his own game against a new opponent.

The underdog, on the other hand, is almost always able to use a roughly similar game book against his stronger one – especially if and when his position in the just-finished series was similar.

No major lineup news is available for this match; both teams get into the game with their number one crew playing virtually all spring.

Of the individual players, the best goalkeeper in the playoffs, KooKoon, should definitely be raised. Nick Malik.

In his nine playoff games in the spring, Malik have conceded just ten goals and lead the goalie’s rebound percentage statistics with a whopping 95.78 percent reading. The average number of goals conceded is the second best in the series at 1.18 / game right after the flies Joel Blomqvistin (1.10).

A significant observation for KooKoo’s possible further success is also the defender duo Petteri NikkiläPeetro Seppälä importance to his team. The average playing time of the KooKoo number one pair in the playoffs has been over 23 and 22 minutes per match – about four or five minutes more than any other KooKoo defender.

What’s perhaps a little noteworthy about the killer is that several of the team’s star players haven’t opened their goal taps in the playoffs yet. The goals are still e.g. Kristian Kuusela, Kyle Platzer, Anton Levtchi, Waltteri Merelä mixed Jukka Peltola.

It is not worth speculating on it yet, but if the situation is the same in a few matches, it is worth raising the issue again. Athletically, I don’t consider Tappara in this series as overwhelming as it generally seems.

Even in betting, I’m definitely in KooKoo’s sledge in this opening match, because I think the odds are too much for Tappara’s success. SIZE’S SUCCESS The success of Tappara depends very much on its ability to keep the people of Tampere in low paints.

It follows that the success of KooKoo can be claimed in bets on either KooKoo odds or minorities. On Friday, the best payment for Kouvola’s favor will come from less than 4.5 goals in the 60-minute match of the entire match. The 1.76 offered is even a very marginal overshoot of an estimated 57 percent.

Tappara – KooKoo starts at 6.30 pm.

The best bet of the day

I won’t give a real hint today about the Mestis quarterfinals RoKi-JoKP match, but the series is still worth highlighting.

The special language of the match pair and the course of the games is indicated by the fact that RoKi leads the series 3–0, but it is still in the odds for the fourth match played at home with a 2.74 / 3.75 / 2.26 underdog.

Personally, I do not remember such a situation in history that the team leading the 3-0 series would be at home in the position of underdog in the playoffs.

The third encounter of the teams in Joensuu on Wednesday was already approaching comedy. Even in this column, the JoKP alluded to in that game won the shots 93-36 of the match! The goal was also 6.0–2.5 for Joensuu – but RoKi 2–5 won the match itself.

Maso Lehtonen is a guru. It is no longer possible to suggest JoKP as a favorite from this setup (series 3–0 for RoK and home game).

The best long draw in Friday will be the undercover of the Tappara – KooKoo match.
