Biathlonist Tiril Eckhoff announces on his Instagram account that he is ending his long career.

Eckhoff, 32, won, among other things, two Olympic golds and 10 World Championship golds in his biathlon career.

A total of eight Olympic medals and no fewer than 15 World Cup medals were collected.

– I have experienced a lot and feel extremely lucky to have been able to live my dream as a biathlon skier for more than 15 years, Eckhoff writes.

Eckhoff dominated women’s biathlon for years. In his text, he also thanks all his supporters, such as his national team mates, coaches, friends and family.

He says that he will not forget the 2016 World Championship. At that time, Eckhoff won two World Championship golds in Oslo.

– It will forever remain the best memory of my sports career.

Eckhoff did not yet know that the games won at Holmenkollen would be the last of his career.

– When I end my career here, I still think I will finish at the top. I won two races at home (in Holmenkollen) in front of a fantastic crowd, my friends and family.

– It’s a bit sad to stop, but at the same time I know that this is the right decision. I am proud of my achievements and look back on my career with a smile on my face.
