Shindy cancels interview: legal advisors had too much to complain about

After not hearing much from Shindy musically in recent years, he returned on October 7th with an almost one-hour interview with the journalist Jan Wehn. The interview was published as part of the promotional phase for his latest album IN MEINER BLÜTE and was just one of three parts. The second conversation between Shindy and Jan Wehn was uploaded on October 14th, but things are looking bad for the third final part. On Sunday (October 23) he wrote the following on his Instagram story:

“Unfortunately (despite my more than considered statements), interview part 3/3 was censored so much by my legal advisors that I lost interest in publishing it. In addition to the album and tour, this part also deals with the separation from my ex-label. To a large extent, these issues are the subject of ongoing investigations and proceedings. It is therefore unfortunately impossible to estimate whether and when part 3/3 can appear. ”So it was not his fault that the third part was cancelled.

Shindy Story from October 23rd

Many fans are angry because the album was supposed to be released on September 23rd, but was then postponed to an indefinite date. The corresponding box for the album could and can still be pre-ordered and, at 150 euros, is the most expensive album edition in German rap history. The contents of the set are not yet known, but on the album page you can find a pair of socks (30 euros), a set of three BIC lighters with printed stickers (15 euros), pajamas (70 euros) and various T-shirts (each 50 euros) order.

The interviews were intended to be clear shindy statements. However, what has been heard so far is rather meager in terms of content – it was about his relationship with nature and he revealed his favorite colors. When asked about his relationship to the German-speaking rap scene, he replied: “I would almost say I have no relationship to the German rap scene at all”. At most, he has contact with people like author Jan Wehn or one or two other artists. “That’s it already. I almost never listen to new releases. […] I’m also not particularly active on social media,” he added. In part 2/3 they walk through nature on a paved path and Shindy explains, among other things, that he doesn’t like releasing individual songs. “I like to commit myself and then just give it my all,” he said. The “single game” is against its nature, but with big albums “it works [s]a heart open.”

The fans’ hopes of finding out something really explosive in part 3/3 were correspondingly high. Topics such as the album release, possible tour dates, his relationship with Abou Chaker and Bushido, his legal dispute with Disney, which he reported in August 2021, or the contract problems with his label “Friends With Money” were not clarified. Shindy suggested that this may have been due to objections from his legal advisers.
