Angela de Jong thinks it is going a step too far that Els now also conquers the commercial breaks: she has recorded a commercial for Rivella. “Punt for Els, although I am now sure that I will never get that mess again,” the opinion diva sneered in her column.

Ugly and negative
Els does not like these kinds of critical remarks. “Criticism can be constructive, so I learn something from it. So I am certainly open to that. But it is different when it comes to ugly and negative messages.”

What does Els want to say to her critics, like Angela? “I think: go against a tree to scream or go punniken. But do it sweetly, you don’t even know me. I am above it, because it says everything about that person.”
