Kay also called in the help of Siebe and Jan before the operation. They are 69 and 77 years old respectively, but they do not turn their hand for a day. “You used to do eighty sheep in a day. Well, then you were comfortable in the evening. Now we work in couples, so that we only have to shave. Let Kay go nicely with the animals.”
The sheep that are shaved today are very drying. Their lambs will be born in the coming weeks. That means long days before the cattle farmers, Bert says.
“Among other things with cameras, we keep a close eye on things day and night.” Kay adds: “But we do that with love, you know. If you see them all running into the meadow soon, that remains a beautiful sight.”
