Eva Jinek has caused a lot of annoyance at Waylon. The singer says he canceled her talk show because the editors increased the pressure too much. “She wants to be a juice channel of sorts.”
Waylon would make an appearance in Eva Jinek’s talk show next week, but that is canceled. Initially, the editors of Jinek announced in a statement that it was a joint decision: “The (show) media has given so much substance to this conversation in advance, that both parties are now abandoning it.”
No sorry interview
That is not entirely correct, the manager of Waylon now tells RTL Boulevard. According to him, it had been agreed that the interview would be about his music and that Eva would only ask one private question, namely: ‘How is it at home?’
The impression that it would be a big sorry interview is wrong, according to Waylon’s manager. “When this was announced as fact in various media, there was pressure from the Jinek editors to discuss the private events in more detail, despite earlier agreements. We thank you kindly for this.”
So it is Camp Waylon that decided to cancel the planned performance at Jinek.
Eva as juice channel
Johan Derksen, a big fan of Waylon, tells in Today Inside that he also had extensive contact with the manager of the singer. “I was approached by the manager this morning and it turns out that Jinek is so panicked by the disappointing viewing figures that she wants to become a kind of juice channel to attract viewers.”
Remarkable, Johan thinks. “It was agreed that Waylon would come there to talk about his new Dutch-language album and theater show and there would be one question about his private life, namely: ‘How is it at home?’”
‘Waylon harassed’
It was not at all intended that it would become a kind of sorry interview, according to Johan. So it was picked up by the media. “All the newspapers have picked up on: ‘O Waylon is coming to tell all his personal life’, but that was not the intention at all.”
He continues: “Then he was harassed by the editors of Jinek, saying: ‘Yes, we would actually like to ask a lot more about your private life.’ Then I wonder, huh? That is the new trend… Those juice channels are unscrupulous, Boulevard and Shownieuws are not much better, but now also Jinek?”
‘Non relevant!’
Eva should not stoop to that, Johan thinks. “Apparently it’s news when someone n**ks outside the door, that is completely measured and then you also have to come and explain it. Guys, we don’t have a fag to do with what anyone is doing out there! I don’t think it’s relevant at all.”
VI guest Heleen van Royen is disappointed in Eva. “I do miss the old Jinek a bit. What I hear is it’s Nick & Simon, Waylon, Robbie Williams. I miss the Jinek a bit from when she was still with the public broadcaster. I still think she’s a good interviewer, so it’s a shame if she’s wasting her talent on Waylon and Nick & Simon.”
